I don’t know about you, but I can not wait for that 70 degree weather to hit…. I can just hear the violin like sound of crickets, the warm rays of the sun on my shoulders and the canvas feel of my favorite fishing hat on my head. Even the smell of our “Magic Bait” Cat fish bait is enough to make me ready for a day of fishing. Only a true fisherman can not only stomach the smell of “Magic Bait” Cat Fish Bait but actually think of it as aromatic as the smell of brewing coffee first thing in the morning. For me, there is nothing better then waking up to the brillant purple, yellow and amber hues of a sunrise at 4:30am. I love the feel of the dew on my shoes as I climb out of my tent to get ready for a full day of fishing. For some reason three hours of sleep is enough to reenergize me for the day. I can stay up till 1:30am night fishing for cat fish and be ready to hit it again at 4:30am. There is nothing quite like the sound of percolating coffee, Farmland Bacon Flavored Sausages and eggs on a warm summer morning. For some reason the eggs taste like no other eggs I have ever had. It must be the thrill of the day ahead that is flavoring the food. There is something magical about that first cast of the morning, listening to the line glide through the air and the satisfying sound indicating your bait has found its dedicated spot. There is nothing like the clammy hands you experience waiting for your first fish of the day. To turn that crank and anticipate the prize on the other end of the line, there is nothing like it. I have not always loved fishing, but from that first day when I was a 10 year old girl catching my first bluegill in a lake in Tennesee. I fell in love with fishing. There was something almost ethereal about the thrill of the chase. My father and I really began regularly fishing when I was 20 years old. We had our great days and we had our fishless days. There was nothing that quite compared to the summer of 2009. I will post some pictures for you to admire of the fish that were caught that summer. During the summer we primarily fish at Coal City Area Club, a private club in Coal City Illinois. This club stocks: blue gill, crappie, large mouth, small mouth bass, trout, muskey, perch, pike, channel and bull head cat fish. Pictures to come of what this club has produced. How many of you can not wait for the thrill of the chase? How many of you have a fishing story to tell? Post here, can not wait to hear them…
